Be friend with depression

Be friend with depression

People with severe depression aren't simply "unhappy" or "sad."

More often, it manifests as pain.

This pain isn't just metaphorical or confined to your mind; it's very real and profoundly invades every inch of your body.

Every morning before even opening your eyes, you already know your body hurts. Your shoulders feel as though they're pressed by heavy iron weights, your neck is so tense it's like rusty gears grinding painfully.

Your fingers become stiff and numb, making holding a phone or a pen sometimes feel torturous. Pain in your back and waist feels like thorns growing directly from your bones, embedding deeper into your marrow with every breath.

Headaches become an everyday ordeal—not sharp and acute, but a persistent, dull ache as if your head is wrapped tightly with a heavy, damp cloth, squeezing each nerve relentlessly.

Your chest is another major source of suffering, frequently overwhelmed by heaviness and pressure, as if an enormous stone is perpetually crushing your heart, making breathing a conscious effort and amplifying the sensation of suffocation.

Your limbs often feel inexplicably heavy and weak, as though you're forced to move underwater wearing soaked clothes, with every action requiring ten times the normal strength.

These pains aren't from external injuries and can't be alleviated by taking a simple painkiller.

They originate from your brain, your heart, your nervous system—from all the silent suffering you've endured yet never voiced.

What's most cruel is how these pains are frequently dismissed as "psychological." Those around you might say you're "overthinking" or suggest you "just go for a walk," but the reality is this pain is real and tangible.

If you've experienced these pains, please know none of this is your fault, and you're not alone.

The pain you feel right now is a genuine and powerful testament—proof that you're still fighting to live, proof that your suffering deserves acknowledgment, visibility, and gentle care.
